  5. Brother wins Queen's Award for enterprise

We've won the coveted Queen's Award for sustainable development for the second time

We’re proud to announce that Brother UK has been honoured with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise, recognition for our outstanding achievements in sustainable development.

The Queen’s Award for Enterprise is the highest accolade in the country for business excellence, and this is the second time we’ve been successful.

We are one of just 230 companies across the UK to win the Queen’s Award for Enterprise. It’s regarded as the highest accolade in the country for business excellence, and this is the second time we’ve been successful. It’s a real acknowledgement for how we operate responsibly, promoting and developing sustainable business practices.

It all comes down to our ethos built around ‘doing the right thing’.

We’re committed to empowering staff, working with local communities, business continuity planning and being environmentally responsible.

Our fundamental purpose is to make the people and businesses we work with more successful, more quickly, which, in turn, has made our own business sustainable and adaptable.

As well as playing an active part in the community near our Tameside HQ, we’ve worked hard to achieve continuous annual reductions in fuel usage and sending zero waste to landfill for eight years in a row.

We’re also one of the few organisations in the country to achieve Investors in People ‘Platinum’ status, recognising the investment we make in our people and their potential.

The award will be presented at a special reception at Buckingham Palace later in the summer, hosted by Her Majesty The Queen.

Phil Jones, Managing Director of Brother UK, said: “We’re delighted to win a Queen’s Award for Enterprise for the second time – the ultimate recognition for our commitment to sustainable development, and one of the highest awards in the country for organisations with long-term capability.

“I’m so proud to be leading this company at such a significant time, and for it to be recognised with this most prestigious award as we celebrate our 50th anniversary year.”
