Subscription and sign up:

EcoPro is a smart subscription plan from Brother based around your print requirements. It is based on how many pages you print monthly.

Sign up now for hassle free printing services and you will never have to keep worrying about running out of inks and toners. Your printer will let us know when you are running low on supplies. You pay monthly by either debit or credit card and we will automatically ship your supplies to your doorstep.

With our EcoPro monthly subscription plan, delivery and recycling is included for free. We’ll send you your first batch of EcoPro inks and toners when you first sign up. If you do run out sooner than expected you can top up by ordering more through the portal. You can then send your used cartridges back to us for recycling free of charge.

What is needed: 
You need an EcoPro eligible printer, see our eligible Brother printers.

Sign up: 
You can sign up to EcoPro either through Brother Mobile Connect app or through our website and fill in the relevant information as directed. If you sign up through the website, make sure to install the Brother Mobile Connect app and link your device to your subscription to activate your subscription fully.

How to sign up

Manage: 
Manage your EcoPro subscription through the Brother Mobile Connect app to conveniently check, amend or cancel your plan.

You can cancel your subscription anytime in the EcoPro dashboard here.

You are limited to one trial per Brother printer/account.

Additional pages for the plan you signed up for are not included in the free trial and additional overage charges would apply. Sometimes, we may offer you a trial or promotional period, during which you will not be charged a subscription fee for your plan (but any applicable overage charges will still apply). If you do not wish to continue with the plan after the initial or promotional period expires, you must cancel your plan before the end of your trial or promotional period.

If your trial includes bonus pages these will be used 1st before any monthly pages. Bonus pages need to be used within 2 months.

The good news is that any eligible printer you own, as long as you are subscribed to EcoPro, will be covered by the Brother warranty, offering you an extended peace of mind with support for your machine. 
You can choose the plan that you initially feel suits you the most. Any pages you don’t use will be rolled over to the next month.

Both versions can be used with EcoPro – however the EcoPro Ready version is a special retail bundle that includes up to 4 months of the subscription included. The EcoPro subscription is optional, and you don’t have to sign up to it to using an EcoPro Ready printer.   

EcoPro account activation:

When you sign up we will send EcoPro inks/toners to you and once you install the first EcoPro ink/toner then your subscription will start (including any free trial). 
If you still have ink or toner in your current cartridges you can take your time using those up first and then replace with the EcoPro cartridges when they are empty.
 
No, when any ink or toner colour is empty, you only have to replace that one colour to activate EcoPro. You can then replace the other colour cartridges, as and when the printer reports them as empty.
We will send EcoPro supplies to you when you sign up, but your subscription and any free trial you have won’t activate until you start using them. So you can still use the remaining ink/toner in your own time and EcoPro will start when you are ready.   

You can also sign up via the Brother Mobile Connect app and manage your ongoing EcoPro subscription. Enjoy a range of benefits, including:

  • No more lost scanned files; the app remembers and stores all scanned files automatically
  • Monitor ink or toner levels quickly, so you never run out mid-print

Managing your EcoPro account:

You can cancel at any time in the dashboard but you can still use the subscription until the end of your billing month. Since EcoPro is billed in arrears you will then receive your final invoice.

You can change your plan once per month. Upgrades will take effect immediately while downgrades are applied at the end of your monthly billing cycle. 

To change your plan simply log into your account area on the EcoPro dashboard and select the new plan you would like to switch to. This allows you to easily adjust your subscription to match how much you print.

If you have exceeded your monthly page plan limit and exhausted any rollover pages, you will be charged an additional fee which is set out in your page plan. At the end of each month, you will receive an invoice which will list any overage charges.  We also send an email notification to let you know you have incurred overage. It is possible to upgrade your plan at that point which would take effect immediately and cancel any overage charges.  

Any unused pages can be rolled over with maximum balance being double your normal monthly page plan. 

For example, the ‘Light Page Plan’ includes 50 pages/month therefore the maximum rollover balance is 100 pages.

This provides you with added flexibility. You can easily keep track of your page balance and usage through your EcoPro dashboard, through the Brother Mobile connect app. 
You can pay using major credit and debit cards. 

Ink and toner delivery:

Good news, free delivery on all supplies is included with your EcoPro subscription plan.
Based on your printing usage we will automatically send replacement inks/toners approximately 10 days before your current ones run out. You can see what we have sent in the orders section of your EcoPro dashboard. If for any reason an ink or toner doesn’t arrive in time, you can contact our support team.

Carbon offsetting calculation:

We use a trusted independent 3rd party assessor to calculate the estimated lifecycle carbon emissions of our EcoPro subscription service. They use the Life Cycle Assessment method to quantitatively show the environmental information of products through life cycle stages from the extraction of resources to manufacturing, assembly, distribution, use, discarding and recycling.

Our trusted independent 3rd party assessor calculates the carbon emission results of the subscription by assessing the carbon impact of each stage of the product lifecycle. This includes:

  • Raw material acquisition
  • Production
  • Distribution
  • Use and maintenance
  • End of life

Carbon offsetting is a process that involves balancing out greenhouse gas emissions by reducing or removing the same amount of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. In the case of your EcoPro subscription, we calculate the carbon emissions produced and offset them by investing in projects that reduce or remove emissions elsewhere.

To offset the carbon emissions created, we have partnered with Gold Standard to purchase verified carbon credits, which support a range of climate change projects from high-impact community-based projects such as cleaner and safer water and stove solutions, to a wide range of renewable energy projects.

Established in 2003 by WWF and other NGOs, Gold Standard is a best practice certification that ensures carbon reduction projects uphold high environmental integrity, contribute to sustainable development, and are aligned with the Paris Agreement goal of net-zero carbon emissions. They are currently involved in over 3,500 projects in 100+ countries.

So far, 590 tonnes of CO2 have been offset on behalf of customers using this subscription service since launch.
